OnSet - Fast Anesthesia

Depending on a patients induvidual ph, local anesthesia could take 15 minutes or more for to take effect becuase the body has to "buffer" the anesthetic before it can stop that area from sending pain signals to the brain. Onpharma's Sodium Bicarbonate, Inj., 8.4%, USP Neutralizing Additive Solution is indicated to minimize that time by "buffering" the anesthesia just as the body does before being administered.

CariFree Treatment

Cavities are the demineralized areas, or the holes, that form in teeth as a result of a bacterial infection on your teeth called dental caries.  This infection takes place when the normal healthy bacteria in the mouth are replaced by acid-producing bacteria.

Drilling and filling has been the traditional method of treating cavities, but it doesn't treat the bacterial infection, just the symptoms.  Brushing and flossing have been the traditional method of prevention, but they do not change the pH (acidity) of the oral environment or treat the infection once it exists.

Here at the Dental Health Connection, we perform a "caries risk assessment", where we evaluate what factors are contributing to you getting cavities, and offer treatment beyond drilling and filling. Learn more about CariFree

LANAP

What is LANAP?

Laser-assisted New Attachment Procedure is gum surgery designed to treat periodontitus.

Periodontitus, better known as gum disease, is a serious medical condition that left untreated, can lead to tooth loss and has been closely linked to major health problems including heart disease, strokes, pre-term, and stillborn births, as well as certain cancers. It is often painless and can go undetected or ignored until severe gum and bone destruction catches the individual's attention. Even when detected, patients often choose not to undergo traditional surgery due to fear, poor esthetic outcomes and associated pain.

If you have gum disease, and would like to reverse it, LANAP very well may be the right option for you!

Here's how it works:

First, local anesthesia is administered.

Second, a short-duration laser pulse is used on the pockets around the patient's afflicted teeth, which re probed down, about a quarter of an inch. This destroys bacteria and pathologic proteins near the root.

Third, connective tissue is preserved, while infected tissue is destroyed.

With LANAP, no surgical glue, bone graft material, stitches, collagen plugs or sutures are needed making the procedure much more pleasant for our patients.

Digital X-Rays

The digital x-ray uses an electronic sensor, not x-ray film, to capture and store the digital image of your teeth. The image can then be instantly viewed and enlarged helping Dr Smith and his team detect problems or issues quicker and easier. Digital x-rays also reduce radiation 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental x-rays.
